If you’re craving clear, smooth skin (and who isn’t?), you don’t have to spend a fortune on cleansers and creams. In fact, you might already have everything you need to battle blemishes in a surprising place: your fridge. Turns out, what you put in your mouth is as important as what you slather on your face when it comes to curing and preventing common complexion woes.

We all heard this advice as teenagers—to try to fight breakouts by swearing off french fries or chocolate chip ice cream (I know, painful then and now!). Compass For Change, High Blood Pressure

Hypertension is the term used to describe high blood pressure.

Blood pressure readings are measured in millimeters of mercury (mmHg) and usually given as two numbers. For example, 120 over 80 (written as 120/80 mmHg).

* The top number is your systolic pressure, the pressure created when your heart beats. It is considered high if it is consistently over 140.
* The bottom number is your diastolic pressure, the pressure inside blood vessels when the heart is at rest. It is considered high if it is consistently over 90.

Either or both of these numbers may be too high.

Pre-hypertension is when your systolic blood pressure is between 120 and 139 or your diastolic blood pressure is between 80 and 89 on multiple readings. If you have pre-hypertension, you are more likely to develop high blood pressure.

Compass For Change, Laser Eye Surgery results

The results of laser eye surgery should be your number one consideration when it comes to choosing where you have your laser eye surgery treatment and not laser eye surgery cost. You may have found a clinic that can offer you cheap surgery but is there a reason for this? They may well not have as good results as another clinic who are charging a higher price. What you have to remember is the reason you are having laser eye surgery is because you no longer want to wear glasses or contact lenses. Surely it is worth paying a bit extra if it means you have a higher chance of achieving 20:20 vision. You should expect the percentage of people to achieve 20:20 vision following surgery to be at least 90% and you should expect 95% of people to achieve the driving standard of vision. If your surgeon does not have as good results as this, you should consider looking elsewhere. There are additional premium treatments you can have that will increase your chances of getting better vision following surgery and they are wavefront and Intralase. Both these treatments will add an addition £500 to the cost of your procedure but most people are happy with the results.

Compass For Change, Fighting for cancer…

laughThe American Cancer Society formally states that humor therapy (laughter therapy) is the use of humor for the relief of physical and emotional difficulties. It is used as a complementary tool to promote health, enhance immune system performance, and cope with illness.

Laughter can reduce stress, promote good health, and enhance the quality of life. Humor has physiological effects that can increase pleasurable feelings, stimulate the circulatory system, respiratory system, immune system, and other systems in the body.

The medical profession considers happy humor to be safe, when used as a complementary therapy, although some people have complained that their sides ache after too much great comedy entertainment. (Chuckle) Continue Reading

Do you really understand why the vast majority of dieting programs can’t work?

This is because opposing forces in opposite directions essentially cancel one another out. While this example may sound quite silly, it is actually an illustration of what most diet programs try to do to your body, pushing and pulling in different directions, causing failure.
